do u like being called Queer? also do u believe gender is a social construct?this neuroscientist denies it. she just came out w this new book , i’ve been her interviews and they are pretty convincing, with millions of views . my non binary friend online called her “ another white cis “
I'm writing a fantasy book and want the main character to be non-binary as I like to stick to writing what I know, and I'm in a conundrum that I thought I needed some help with. The main character is a messenger between worlds and is a completely different species from humans (they're a genie). Their entire family is the same species, and I'm wondering if I should make the species non-binary or 'genderless' so to speak and completely accepted within the society of the book, or if that would take away from the non-binary struggle? Just here to see what y'all think!
Any book recommendations semi-equivalent to a “Non-Binary/Enby for Dummies” you might recommend for two older cis dudes who would like to understand and support their family member?
My sibling (18) has recently come out as non-binary and though it’s something I’m (32M) kiiinda familiar with, I still haven’t educated myself about it too much. I’d like to take some steps to learn more about it on my own accord, but most of all I’d like to introduce my very “old fashioned” but supportive Dad (64) to something he definitely isn’t very familiar with. I think this would be a great opportunity for us to support someone we love in finding themselves and also further understanding how they think. Would anyone on here by chance have a book recommendation for two dummy dudes who have been raised with more traditional gender roles and want to expand their minds for family?
Best A-book(non binary option) brokers for non-USA. citizens?
Hi, Im a beginner on trading and I want a good non-binary option broker to start my career with. Because binary option seem too much like gambling(espicially Iq option) to me so I am avoiding it(for now), the problem is that im not a USA nor EU citizen, so any recommendation? thanks!
I would be deeply grateful for any advice finding books and media for butch/butch non-binary self empowerment? Needing some hope and support. So far, I’m looking for more role models like Ivan Coyote. I’m a disabled 23yo finally finding my way out of a controlling environment.
Hey! Thanks in advance to anyone reading and considering this post; this was hard to write, but I need advice. I posted in this sub because I feel it most closely matches my identity and comfort zone, plus I find you all so inspiring; hopefully it’s a good fit. I’m 23AFAB looking for ways to dip my toes into exploring my identity after many years of being put down by my unaccepting family. My family takes advantage of my physical reliance on them to suppress parts of me they’re uncomfortable with. However, as soon as I recover from my most recent surgery, I will finally have access to therapy, a social worker, and I’ll be able to move to a progressive city among queer friends, and hopefully build a support system around people who like me for who I am. Things have never looked so good for me and I’m so full of gratitude! But I’m terrified, too. All these feelings at once!!! Like, WOAH. I just want to be as prepared as possible before I go into it, because these types of issues are very painful and scary for me and I’ve spent my whole life avoiding them. I have distanced myself from my queerness out of self preservation, but it seems like I won’t have to for long! In order to prepare for this big exciting change in my life, I recently bought my first piece of queer literature, Tomboy Survival Guide by the respected prominent butch, Ivan Coyote. It changed my life from the first chapter. I related to them so much more than any other adult I’ve ever known of and reading TSG gave me so much hope that I will be able to find people who love and accept me and that I’ll be able to accept and love myself. I appreciated Ivan’s wisdom, maturity, honesty, humor, emotional intelligence, and sensitivity. Their honesty has inspired me for the first time to be Honest with myself. Their commitment to their family relationships is so admirable, too, it gives me hope that I can salvage my family life, too. So, I was wondering what books to look at next. Either another of Ivan coyotes books or one by another older, more mature author that isn’t afraid of their sensitive side. I’m also open to any other kind of media, podcasts, storytellers, artists, bloggers, documentaries, even an older pen pal or something... anything I can do to help me dig myself out of my repression. I may have to start slowly, but I’m so excited. My goal is to finally stop hiding, learn to embrace myself, and to build myself a strong support system. Thank you for reading and feel free to ask any questions that might help you understand me better.
How to represent a non binary person in a book correctly?
Hey! First of all, sorry if this isn't the right place to be posting this, but I'd like to have some insight. So, I'm starting to write a little book, and the main character is non binary and bisexual. I'm trans myself but I'd like to know what would be a good representation on this manner? How to present the character as non binary? There's a part (it's a very first draft and translated, not good I know) that's like: "-Oh, yeah, my dad talks about you. Angelica? -Mhm. You're Julie, right? -No, my name is Alex. I changed it when I found out I was non binary a few months ago. I go by they/them pronouns too. Guess not everyone found out though. -Oh, cool. And you don't need to explain yourself." What do you think? I would like it if I didn't put their deadname on it, but I think it's gonna appear some more times (with their mom) in the future. Although the book is not about them being non binary, it's a coming of age/new adult kinda thing, I think I'll write about it a bit. Anyway, any tips or something?
I'm writing a book and I'm wondering if having a non-binary antagonist would be okay?
I'm writing them just like any other person, I want to make them enjoyable to read about, and it's not like they're the antagonist ~because~ they're NB. I'm worried about the indirect effects of making the antagonist just happen to be NB. I don't want to do more harm than good.
Book recommendations written by women or non-binary authors?
Hi all, the title is pretty self explanatory, I don’t have a preference for topic or genre just looking to expand my library. I figured this would be a good group to ask for a variety of suggestions :) Thanks!
Among several other books published earlier on, the notable one is an introductory book on binary betting. In his book, the author insists that success in binary betting depends on the ability to take trades when news is released. About the methodology: these are 2020 books by women and nonbinary writers of color that I personally happen to be excited about. It’s one list, inevitably incomplete.
